Growing up in Jos, watching Psquare rise was inspiring. Before music, they made dancing a movement, and their global success gave every young artist from the Middle Belt hope. They helped inspire talents like Jeremiah Gyang, MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Yung L, Endia, Chopstix, and many more.
During the Jos crisis, their late mother showed us what family truly means. She came to our church with bread for families when food was scarce. That act of kindness has stayed with me forever.
I’ve supported Psquare throughout my career from my days as an OAP to now managing multiple radio stations, where their music remains on our playlists. That’s why this rift hurts. Instead of celebrating pioneers who changed African music, stage performances, music videos, and artist value, we’re discussing family conflict.
I wrote and produced “Family Na Family” with AI, not to take sides, but to remind them how much they mean to millions of us. We don’t hate them we miss them. I hope they find peace, extend grace to one another, and let God lead the way. I still believe the name Psquare deserves to be part of a Grammy conversation again.
